What Could It Be?: Exploring the Imaginative World of Shapes by Sally Fawcett - ADVISABLE

Fawcett, Sally What Could It Be?: Exploring the Imaginative World of Shapes.  PICTURE BOOK.  EK Books (Exisle Publishing), 2016.  $18.  9781925335026

The book shows a shape and then asks, “What else could it be?”  The reader is encouraged to look at the illustration on the next page and discover all of the circles (glasses, tomatoes, ball, signs, grapes, etc.).  The pattern is repeated for: squares, triangles, rectangles, hexagons, ovals, and octagons.

This book is a great way to teach children their shapes and show them how to find shapes all around their own environment.  The illustrations are eye-pleasing and full of shapes.  There is even a link to download templates so that kids can trace and create their own pictures with shapes.

Pre-K, EL (K-3) – ADVISABLE.  Samantha Hastings, MA, MLS.
