A Kiss Goodnight by Sherman and Norman - OPTIONAL

Sherman, Richard M. and Floyd Norman A Kiss Goodnight.  PICTURE BOOK with CD.  Disney, 2017.  $20.

As a small child, Walt Disney looked forward to the 4th of July fireworks every year.  After all of his failures and successes, when his dream of Disneyland came true, he knew that he wanted to send the visitors home each nigh with a fireworks show – his “kiss good night”.

The sweet little picture book goes over Disney’s earliest days very simply, bringing out the magic of Disney’s thought of fireworks as a “kiss” just before dreams begin.  The song, however, is a bit of a let down.  Its all refrain, without only one verse right at the beginning.  And parts of the chorus are very clunky – not something that leads itself to being sung by a fan.

Pre-K, EL (K-3) – OPTIONAL.  Cindy, Library Teacher
