This is My Dollhouse by Giselle Potter - ESSENTIAL

Potter, Giselle This is My Dollhouse, PICTUREBOOK. Penguin Random House, 2016. $17.99. Content: G.

A little girl has made a wonderful dollhouse out of a cardboard box, with found items adapted to be furniture, like a block with drawn on heating elements for a stove, and a silver box with a hole cut out to put in a picture for the TV.  She even has an elevator made from a paper cup so her dolls can swim in the pool (bowl) on the roof of the dollhouse.  But when she visits her friend Sophie, she sees Sophie’s store bought doll house, but they don’t play with it, as there’s not a lot of room for imagination.  The girls find that the dollhouse that you make yourself is a lot more fun to play with.

The inside of the jacket has tips on making your own dollhouse.  A great story about using your imagination and being creative will be a fun read.  This book and a large empty box would make a great gift.
