The Wonderful Habits of Rabbits by Douglas Florian - OPTIONAL

Florian, Douglas The Wonderful Habits of Rabbits, illustrated by Sonia Sanchez. PICTURE BOOK. Bonner Publishing Group, 2016. $16.99. Content: G.

This book follows a group of rabbits doing all the things they like to do.

The title and the realistic drawings of rabbits on the cover made me think this would teach the reader about rabbits, but this story is more about a year in the life of a family of rabbits who build snow rabbits in winter, swim in the summer, and read goodnight stories to their children.  It’s a cute story but not informational and some of the things that the rabbits do is a stretch for rabbits. They look like regular rabbits, it’s weird to watch them do people things. The story is cute, but the illustrations should have better represented a "rabbit family" (i.e. Beatrix Potter).
