The Road to You by Alecia Whitaker - OPTIONAL

Bird is now recognized as a country star.  She goes on tour opening for one of the legends of country music and falls in love with one of the roadies, Kai.  As she learns about the industry—the highs and lows of producing music, her family tries to help her remember who she is so she doesn’t get lost in all the hype.  Bird is a successful artist but it isn’t always easy and now she feels responsible for all the people who have sacrificed for her success.   

As the middle book of the Wildflower trilogy, this has a bridging feel to it.  Bird is more likable in the first book, her character takes a turn for the worse in this book and she becomes snooty.  Bird’s relationship with Kai is frustrating because she is needy and whiny and isn’t true to herself or her family.  I’m hoping the third book in the series redeems this character, because I really liked the first book.
