The Incredible Space Raiders From Space by Wesley King - OPTIONAL

King, Wesley The Incredible Space Raiders From Space,293 pgs. Simon & Schuster, 2015. $16.99. Language G (0 swears, 0 ‘f’) Sexual Content G, Violence G.

Jonah was an average boy, until one day he is kidnapped.  When he wakes up on The Fantastic Flying Squirrel, he finds out that he has been picked out of all the kids in the galaxy to go on a mission to save the universe against the EET (Entirely Evil Things). He is quickly welcomed and dubbed Jonah the Now Incredible until they realize that his abduction was probably a mistake. Can he still join the Incredible Space Raiders on their mission to avoid the ominous shrieker, and the pure evil crew so he can beat the Entirely Evil Things?

I thought the story was an interesting and new middle reader.  Though the story itself is a little cheesey, a younger reader will probably love it.  It had a great ending that made me feel satisfied even as an older reader who was rather skeptical of the whole thing. The characters and story are very fun.
