Let the Storm by Shannon Messenger - ADVISABLE

Messenger, Shannon  Let the Storm Break (Sky Fall, #2), 381 pgs.  Simon Pulse, 2014.  $17.99  Content:  Language: PG-13 (9 swears); Mature Content: PG-13; Violence: PG-13.

Audra has left Vane so that she can try and deal with all that she has learned about her past, but she finds herself trapped and unable to reach him.  Vane is bonded to Audra and he tries to remind himself that she loves him, but when the Gales who govern the winds keep trying to pair him with Solance, his arranged finance, he wishes Audra would hurry home.  On top of the romantic drama, the evil wind rebel Raiden has figured out how to strip the wind and create unstoppable wind monsters.  Audra needs to get back to Vane and together they need to figure out how to stop Raiden.

This is the second book, and at times the storyline slows.  There is humor though and the characters are likable.  The bad guy is better developed in this book, but the ending is abrupt and completely unsatisfying.  Of course, I will read the next book though because I like the world and characters that were developed.

MS, HS-ADVISABLE.  Reviewer, C. Peterson.
