The left page contains one animal; the right page has the second animal hidden under a flap. Readers have a chance to guess what the opposite animal will be and are sometimes surprised with the answer.
Not only is this a “life the flap” book, but the animals under the flap are often times pop-up animals. We loved this book! It is simple but fun to read and enjoy. The best surprise comes on the very last page where the animal is larger than the book itself!
