Mia receives a
nutcracker from her grandfather for a Christmas gift. He tells her the story
and she is swept away in her imagination to become a part of it. We see
snippets from each dance and colorful illustrations featuring all her friends.
I know a ton of
students that would love this book, many of which were in local Nutcracker
productions. The illustrations are darling and the plot actually sorted out the
story of the Nutcracker for me in a simple and understandable way. Students
will be drawn to the sparkly pink ballet cover and learn about a traditional
holiday ballet.
