Son of Neptune by Rick Riordan - ESSENTIAL

Riordan, Rick Son of Neptune, 513 p. Disney, 2011.  $20.

Mature Content: G; Language: G; Violence: PG (there is LOTS of fighting, but everyone who dies does so without a lot of description).

Percy Jackson has been on the run from the Gorgons for two months now and barely escapes to safety inside Camp Jupiter, having hauled an old lady in with him.  Now he has just four days to find and free a god, or the entire camp will be in jeopardy.  While Frank and Hazel are with him, too many others would like to see Percy fail – and it doesn’t help that he really has no idea who he is.

Rick Riordan is the king of the adventure novel right now.  He has put together solid action adventures that will make you laugh out loud – even during some of the tensest action.  I forget how funny he really is.  LOVE IT!
