Lincoln & His Boys by Rosemary Wells

Wells, Rosemary Lincoln & His Boys pgs.96 Candlewick Language~G; Sexual Content~G; Violence~PG

One of the most revered American Presidents of all time is Abraham Lincoln. In 2009 our country celebrated Lincoln’s 200th birthday. Many books were published about Lincoln that year and this is one of the best I have seen! In this delightful historical fiction chapter book, we meet Lincoln’s youngest 2 sons Tad and Willie. The book is told from their perspective as Lincoln begins his presidential campaign that ultimately wins him the White House. Wells brings this giant of history to life through the eyes of his sons who adored him. Original paintings done by P.J. Lynch are amazing! They bring Lincoln off the pages and into your heart. I loved reading this short glimpse into the life of this adored president. I highly recommend this title to all ages and all libraries!
