Cobalt Squadron by Elizabeth Wein - ADVISABLE

Wein, Elizabeth  Cobalt Squadron (Star Wars: The Last Jedi), 251 pages.  Language: G; Mature Content: G; Violence: PG (Scifi violence)

Before Rose worked with Finn in The Last Jedi, she was the more timid of two sisters working for the rebellion.  Her older sister, Paige, was always there for her, even when they joined the Cobalt Squadron on a highly dangerous mission of mercy.  A mission to a planet held captive by the First Order for no discernable reason.  If they can’t evade the First Order ships and deliver much needed supplies, everyone will die.  Rose is a master gadget maker and all of her skills will be needed to save the Rebellion.

If you were curious about the bombing ships at the beginning of The Last Jedi and the young lady, Paige,  who gave her life to make the hit, now you get a chance to meet her.  And you get to meet Rose before she becomes Finn’s sidekick.  The various authors who are contributing the backstories to the Star Wars universe are doing a fantastic job.  I loved Elizabeth Wein’s historical fiction books long before Code Name Verity made her famous.
