The Kid from Planet Z: Don't Sneeze by Nancy Krulik - ADVISABLE

Krulik, Nancy  The Kid from Planet Z: Don’t Sneeze (The Kid from Planet Z, #2), 90 pgs.  Illustrated by Louis Thomas  CHAPTER BOOK  Grosset and Dunlap, 2017.  $9.00  Content: G.

Zeke is getting ready to put on a play with his two best friends, but he is also coming down with a cold.  Because Zeke is an alien, when he sneezes it sounds like, “ha, ha”.  On the day of the kids performance Zeke can’t stop sneezing and his friends think he is laughing, so they can’t do their performance and Zeke’s friends are mad at him.  When Zeke uses some of his other alien skills to rid his friends of a bully, they all get a chance to talk and become friends again.

This is the second book in the series, and I recommend reading the first book to understand that Zeke is an alien trapped on earth.  Zeke is a cute character and I cared that he resolved his friend conflict.  Again, these are great books for newer readers because the illustrations and the amount of text as well as the entertaining story line makes for a fast and fun read.
