Alice Paul is a women’s right's leader who attracted attention for her cause in creative ways.  When President Woodrow Wilson came to the White House, nobody was there to greet him off the train because everyone was attending a parade put on by Alice Paul.  Through different means: parades, starting a women’s party and petitioning in front of the White House, Alice Paul finally got President Wilson (with the help of Wilson’s daughter) to back women in their cause for the right to vote.  

The illustrations in this book aren’t my favorite because they seem like two different styles mixed together.  The story line was interesting and I hadn’t heard of Alice Paul as a woman’s suffragist until this book.  I just don’t know if kids will pick up this book because its illustrations aren’t that appealing, which is sad because it’s an interesting nonfiction story.
