The Distance to Home by Jenn Bishop - ADVISABLE

Bishop, Jenn The Distance to Home, 230 pages. Alfred A. Knopf (Random), 2016. $16.99.

Language: G (0 swears, 0 “f”); Mature Content: G; Violence: G.

When Quinnen’s sister, Haley, dies in a car accident, her world turns completely upside down.  Nothing will ever be the same.  She doesn’t even feel like playing her favorite sport, baseball, anymore. The next summer, the local baseball team, the Tri-City Bandits, need places for some of their players to stay.  Quinnen’s family takes one of the players in and Quinnen gets back involved, grudgingly.  Everything changes, though, as one player helps her to like baseball again.  This helps Quinnen to start living again and to find a way to let go of her anger toward Haley.

This book is amazing because it shows how you should live in the moment and always forgive …. because you never know, if you put it off, if you’ll even get the chance again. You’ll love this book no matter what.  But, if you like the sport genre, especially ones that include baseball, you’ll more than love this book.
