The Show (Last Man #4) by Balak -PUBLIC ONLY

Balak The Show(Last Man #4) 206 pgs. First Second, 2016. $9.99 Content: Language: PG13 (mature talk); Mature Content: R Violence: PG13 GRAPHIC NOVEL
In this third book we see Richard fall into a situation in his home country, where he must become a fighter again.  Adrian and his mother, Marianne, finally find him and things aren’t at all what they expect. They find themselves signing up to fight as well, luckily they still have the magic from their home country. Too bad one of their foes does too.
I look forward to reading these, but I am grownup who loves graphic novels. But as the series continues it just pushes those mature rating boundaries more and more.  I still think high school students would love it, but its gotta be public only. This is 100% not appropriate for a school library, it’s bordering on being rated higher than R, with tons of sexual talk, revealing views of women (men in past books), and much more. The main characters are completely grown ups, except for the young boy Adrian, who somehow maintains his innocence despite spending time in a brothel in a past book. I honestly am not sure if this series is being marketed to teen readers and/or just adults, so I hate to knock it for something its not doing, regardless this is a very grownup series.
