Hopper isn’t thrilled to attend a new school, especially a creepy one. Together with a new friend Eni, the pair discover that the birds on the campus aren’t quite right and that numbers and perhaps binary code are related to how the birds behave. A bigger mystery emerges when they are able to get inside the Janitors locked shed. Features basic black and white and bright green simple graphic novel style illustrations.
Well, at my school we are very much into coding and participate yearly in the Hour of Code. Its one of my favorite events. I will be adding this book to my library immediately and following the series closely. I even learned some binary and laughed out loud during this read! Its full of little puzzles to solve that remind me a ton of the activities for Hour of Code. Top notch author, a fun intriguing story that features coding, a graphic novel..what more can a librarian ask for! Perfect for 3-6 grade readers.
