Crown of Three by J.D. Rinehart - ADVISABLE

Rinehart, J. D. Crown of Three, 416 pages.  Simon and Schuster, 2015.  $18.

Language: G; Mature Content: G; Violence: PG (swords and battles).

A set of triplets were separated at birth and hidden throughout the realms.  Two of them grew up with no knowledge of their destiny or birthright, while the other is a spoiled princess with little compassion for others.  When the evil king is murdered, as prophesied, conditions in the kingdom do not improve, as the new, young, king, is paranoid, and as apt to kill off opposition as his father was.  The three siblings will each have a role to play in the destiny of their country, but only if they can discover who they, develop their courage, and band together.

Blackthorn has spun the beginning of a heroic tale that will be perfect for students who are ready to move on from Harry Potter, but not quite ready for Tolkein.
