Anna is getting the opportunity to travel to China! Her former teacher, inspired by Anna’s family, has decided to adopt from the same orphanage that Anna’s family got Kaylee from. Anna is going to go with! She is curious to visit a place where she will fit in and wants to do something to help the orphanage. She learns some lessons, makes some friends, and has a wonderful time.
This story was a bit more interesting than the last, but still a very baby heavy focus. I sort of feel like this entire series was written by a woman who is baby hungry. I did like the exploration of heritage, with the themes of fitting in and belonging. Teachers would love the essay/writing focus, but I found it to be a bit repetitive, like I was grading homework. In that case, maybe students would feel like they were writing homework by reading this book. Even realistic fiction can still be fun to read, and I just didn't enjoy this book.
