Tiki and Ronde are key players for their middle school’s football team, the Hidden Valley Eagles. Everyone is excited that they are so close to the finals, just a few more key games to go. Everything comes crashing to a halt when the very contagious chicken pox starts felling the players one by one. Can they push through or will the fear of catching it, and the demoralization of missing their players, end their winning streak?
I really enjoyed this book, I felt like the plot, characters, and pace were all very authentic and interesting. I think it would take a true football fan to appreciate the detailed game sequences though.  There was a clear concept of losing, teamwork, and understanding that is threaded throughout that I really appreciated. Although this can function as a stand alone, there are plot components that would be better understood by having read the first few books in this series. These books fly off the shelf. I wouldn't hesitate to add this book to my school library!
