Big Game by Dan Smith - OPTIONAL

Smith, Dan Big Game, 263 p. ChickenHouse (Scholastic), MARCH 2015.  Language: R (50 swears, 0 ‘f’); Violence: R; Mature Content: G.

Oskari is the worst hunter in his Finnish village, but like every boy before him, he has to go out on his Trial - whatever he manages to hunt will set his status for the rest of his life.  Danger is more than cold, however, when a plane crashes in his wilderness and the only survivor in the President of the United States - and someone wants to stalk the POTUS as prey.  Oskari may not have the strength he needs, but he has all of the skills and the cunning to help them both survive - if only the President will listen.

Wow - this book is so good and it is SOOOO violent.  It is probably akin to the Die Hard movies for violence.  It has already been made into a movie that was released in Canada, and should be out in the US soon.  I can only imagine that it is rated R, but I really want to see it.  I really might cross my fingers and put this in my library anyway – it’s really engaging.
