Patchi and his friend Juniper have gotten separated from the other
dinosaurs during the migration. They stick
together, but come across a lot of danger in their attempt to meet back up with
their families. They encounter crabs on the
beach and a meat-eating dinosaur. They
travel slowly because Juniper has a hurt leg, but they eventually find their
families at the winter grounds.
The
thing about kids and dinosaur books is that it is all about the pictures. This book has dull and blurry pictures that
are taken from the movie. The amount of dinosaur
terms make it hard for an early reader to get through and the dangers they face
aren’t that exciting, especially when you can’t really see the big bad
dinosaurs. It’s not a very interesting
or engaging dinosaur book.
