Dave Garbot. 32 pgs. Harper Collins, 2013. $7.99. PICTURE BOOK. We love to snuggle up to a great “seek and
find” picture book. This was one of our
favorites. In addition to looking for
hidden pictures like a green frog hidden in every scene, this book also came
with a mystery challenge. There is an emergency
in Easterville. Someone has stolen the
Easter Bunny’s Golden Egg. The Easter
Bunny is on the lookout for clues that the egg-snatcher has left behind. The reader must figure out who the snatcher
is. At first glance, the book seems
almost too easy. But a few pages in, we
realized our initial guess was incorrect and we had no idea who stole the
Golden Egg! We even had our 17 year old
try to solve the mystery and it was hilarious watching his initial confidence
subside as he didn’t solve the mystery until almost the final page! We really enjoyed this book. The illustrations are detailed and
adorable. This book is a great addition to your Easter collection. EL (K-3). ADVISABLE.
