Rise of the Elgen by Richard Paul Evans - ESSENTIAL

Evans, Richard Paul Michael Vey: Rise of the Elgen, 335 p. Simon Pulse, 2012.  $18.  Violence: PG-13 (torture, fighting, graphic death).

Michael and friends may have escaped, but Dr. Hatch and the Elgen have no intention of letting them remain on the loose.  They will need all of the their wits and everyone’s powers in order to escape trap after trap and when they discover Hatch’s plans for the world.

Non=stop action and danger await in Evans’ second installment.  I don’t know how all those years of writing religious fiction prepared him for this, but I don’t care.  SOOO much better.  There is one death that I found particularly gruesome – maybe he’s been taking lessons from James Dashner.
