Faith: Five religions and what they share by Dr. Richard Steckel and Michele Steckel -ADVISABLE

Steckel, Dr. Richard and Steckel, Michele Faith: Five religions and what they share 36 pgs. Kids Can Press, Ltd, 2012. $12.92.  (Rating: G).
Starts with a basic overview of five religions: Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Islam and Judaism. This book then does something surprising –each section that follows summarizes Similarities! Such as the Golden Rule –examples from each religion are given. Other sections are on Prayer, places of worship, clothing, and leaders.
This book was really good because the basic message is to accept others and that people are all more alike than different. The summaries of each religion are sort of sparse and even a bit confusing, but it’s quickly made up for by the focus on similarities in the rest of the book. I would use this book as a great adjunct to teaching.
