Legacy by Molly Cochran - ADVISABLE

Cochran, Molly  Legacy  418 pages.  Simon and Schuster, 2011.  $17.99.  Content: Language: PG-13 (21 swears; 12 God); Sexual Content: PG-13; Violence: PG-13.  Katy has been sent to a small town in Massachusetts for boarding school, when she gets there she finds that the students don’t like her because of a violent act that her mother committed before she died in a fire.  As Katy uncovers the magic within herself and her maternal family’s power, she finds that the enemy wasn’t her mother, but an evil called The Darkness that her mother was trying to protect the community from.  Katy also falls fast in love with Peter, whose brother was the victim of her mother’s violent act, and Katy and Peter combine forces to fight the darkness.

I thought this book had a good storyline and the characters were likable, but the ending was a bit anticlimactic.

MS-OPTIONAL, HS-ADVISABLE.  Reviewer, C. Peterson.
