Say, Allen.  The Boy in the Garden.  Houghton Mifflin Books for Children, 2010.  $17.99 PICTURE BOOK.  Content, G.  A young boy visits a family friend with his father.  While his father is visiting, he wanders into the garden and finds a bronze crane that he has mistaken for real.  His father and his father’s friend laugh at his mistake and he walks further into the garden to avoid embarrassment.  He crawls into a teahouse and falls asleep, where he dreams of a story his mother had told him of the Grateful Crane.  He is awaken from his dream by his father and then he goes home.  Too many stories within a story.  EL-OPTIONAL.  Reviewer, C.
