Copper by Kazu Kibuishi

Kibuishi, Kazu Copper 96 p. GRAPHIX 2010. $ 12.99. Language - G; Sexual Content - G; Violence - G. This is a collection of some of the best cartoons called Copper. The cartoon features a boy and his dog, who have adventures together. Copper, the boy, is very optimistic, and sees problems as adventures. On the other hand, Fred, the dog, is fearful and always voices his opinion. No matter how bad of an idea it is though, Fred always follows Copper wherever he goes. They meet bunnies, robots that can dance, and even go on deep sea adventures. Most of the cartoons are very short. They seem to have a theme that Copper is usually right in choosing what they are doing. I didn't find the cartoons particularly funny or entertaining. You definitely have to have a wry sense of humor to enjoy these cartoons. EL, MS - OPTIONAL. Anna Mattheus, Elementary Teacher.
