What’s Inside by Giles Laroche

Laroche, Giles What’s Inside: Fascinating Structures Around the World. Houghton Mifflin, 2009. $17.00. PICTURE BOOK. The author explores the outsides and insides of fourteen different structures around the world. At first I thought it was going to be about famous buildings with an intriguing artifact or sculpture inside, but the author jumps from present to past, from artifacts to people, with no sense of rhyme or reason. The best part about this book is the bas-relief cut-paper collages that illustrate it; those are what make the book worth buying. EL – OPTIONAL. Cindy, Library-Teacher.
